Food Safety Notice

This page explains how we approach food safety as a small local homemade food service.

01

Home Kitchen Food Preparation

Home Cooked Meals UK is planned as a small local homemade food service. Meals are prepared in small batches and offered by pre-order only.

We aim to follow good hygiene practices, keep preparation areas clean, handle food carefully and avoid taking more orders than can realistically be prepared and delivered safely.

Food businesses in the UK are expected to register with the local council before trading and follow food hygiene requirements. This website is being prepared with that operating model in mind.

02

Freshly Prepared Food

Dishes are not mass-produced. The menu is intentionally limited so food can be prepared fresh and in realistic quantities.

Availability may depend on ingredients, preparation time and daily capacity. A dish shown on the website may still need to be confirmed before it is prepared.

Small batch preparation.
Pre-orders reviewed before confirmation.
Limited dishes available at any one time.
Ingredients and availability may change.
03

Delivery and Timing

Delivery is handled personally, locally and only after confirmation. We aim to deliver food as close as reasonably possible to the agreed time.

Because this is not a courier platform, delivery may be affected by preparation time, traffic, distance and availability. If timing changes, we will try to contact you using the phone or email provided.

04

Customer Storage and Consumption

Freshly prepared food should be eaten promptly or stored safely. Once food has been delivered, customers are responsible for handling and storing it appropriately.

General guidance:

  • Eat hot food as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
  • If food is not eaten immediately, follow safe storage guidance.
  • Do not leave perishable food at room temperature for long periods.
  • Reheat food thoroughly if reheating is suitable for that dish.
  • Do not consume food if it looks, smells or tastes unsafe.
05

Allergens and Dietary Requirements

Food is prepared in a home kitchen where allergens may be present. We provide allergen information where possible, but cross-contact cannot be completely ruled out.

If you have an allergy, intolerance, coeliac disease or strict dietary requirement, please tell us before your pre-order is confirmed.

For detailed allergen information, please read our Allergen Information page before ordering.

06

Practical Service Limits

We may limit or refuse orders if the requested dishes, quantities, timing or delivery location cannot be handled safely or realistically.

This helps protect food quality, food safety and customer expectations.
