Food Safety Notice
Important information about preparation, delivery and safe handling after your order is received.
Food safety information
This page explains how Home Cooked Meals approaches food safety, preparation, local delivery and customer handling after food has been delivered or collected.
Overview
Home Cooked Meals is a small local homemade food service. Food is prepared with care, reviewed around availability and delivered locally after the order has been confirmed.
This notice is intended to help customers understand the practical food safety points connected with homemade meals, including preparation, delivery, storage and reheating after delivery.
If anything appears damaged, incorrect, unusually delayed or unclear when your food arrives, please contact us before eating it.
Preparation and Kitchen Practice
Meals are prepared in a home kitchen environment with attention to cleanliness, ingredient handling and practical food hygiene.
Because this is a small local service, orders are reviewed manually so we can check availability, preparation time, delivery timing and any notes before accepting the order.
Our preparation approach includes:
- Preparing food only after order planning and availability checks.
- Using ingredients intended for the confirmed dishes.
- Keeping preparation, packing and delivery practical and controlled.
- Reviewing customer notes before accepting orders where needed.
Freshness and Small-Batch Cooking
Food is cooked in small batches, which helps keep the menu practical and reduces unnecessary waste.
Some dishes may be available only on certain days or in limited quantities. This is why the website uses order requests and manual confirmation instead of automatic acceptance.
If a dish, ingredient or delivery time can no longer be provided as expected, we may contact you before confirming, adjust the request or decline the order.
Delivery and Collection
Delivery is local and arranged around preparation time, distance, route and available delivery slots.
We aim to deliver food within a practical timeframe after preparation. Delivery times are confirmed manually and may depend on the selected area, order size and schedule.
For practical delivery terms, minimum order rules and local area details, please read here - Delivery.
After Delivery or Collection
Once food has been delivered or collected, the customer is responsible for handling it sensibly and safely.
Food should be eaten promptly unless we have given specific storage or reheating guidance. If you plan to keep food for later, it should be stored safely and reheated properly where appropriate.
Please follow these basic safety steps:
- Check the order as soon as it arrives.
- Do not eat food if it appears damaged, spoiled or different from the confirmed order.
- Store leftovers safely and do not leave food out for long periods.
- Reheat food thoroughly where reheating is appropriate.
Allergens and Dietary Requirements
Food safety and allergen information are connected, but they are handled separately so customers can find the right information clearly.
For allergen details, the 14 regulated allergens, ingredient information and allergy-related order guidance, please read our Allergen Information.
